And while it will be fun to sit idle and let people listen to the rumble, this F-1 was also built for driving. There are cutouts on the dual exhaust so it's easy to really bright the thunder with this big block pickup. And more than just pure performance, it has the right supporting components, too, like a serpentine belt system and Cold Case aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. Not only is this mighty motor upgraded with a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system, but also an Edelbrock high-rise RPM performer intake and Sanderson wrapped headers. But really what's most attractive is the power it brings it the streets. This is a terrific Ford motor that looks awesome in this classic F-1 thanks to the bright valve covers, a big air grabber, and a tidy setup. Under the hood is a massive 429 cubic-inch V8. You'll slip behind the chrome tilt steering column, grab the tall Lokar shifter, and watch the full upgraded AutoMeter gauge cluster do its dance. For example, modern R134a air conditioning was cleanly installed under the dash. But as you look closer, you see a ton of great upgrades. The dash and door panels also coordinate in light green, and has a clean and simple design, like a classic truck should. ![]() Even the steering wheel has been done in two-tone to match. The bench seat looks awesome with its light green with cream tuck-and-roll inserts. ![]() The interior really reflects this truck fresh built feel. Because beneath the worn-in style is an A/C interior, fuel-injected big block power, four-wheel disc brakes, and a fully independent sports suspension. Patina is like a lightning rod for most of us today telling our minds to "get ready for something special!" and this 1954 Ford F-1 Restomod certainly delivers. Even the steering wheel has been done in two-tone to. But even as you look at the details, everything from the way the hood fits to how the doors close with confidence tell you this has a solid all-around feeling. And of course, the 20-inch US Mags wheels on the lowered suspension offers a pure modern aggression. The crystal clear headlights, chrome bumpers, bright side mirrors, tinted windows, and glossy wood in the truck bed signal larger investments. Of course, it's also easy to recognize it's something much more than just an old pickup. So the body on this one has an aged-in respect. After all, the patina look is perfect on pickups because we love it when they have earned their keep over decades. This Iso Grifo below ( Iso Grifo For Sale – A Forest Find) certainly has an interesting patina and not much paint left.FUEL INJECTED BB 429 V8, P/S, P/B, 4 WHL DISC, COLD A/C, INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION! At some point the owner decided that the paint and some of the chrome needed to be replaced but he did not touch the interior which to me looked nearly new. This car is also pictured at the top, the paint is not original. The Hudson Hornet interior below is all original and it looks wonderful. We were joking around but it started me thinking about what is good patina and when does the patina indicate that the car should be restored? I pointed out to a friend recently that the interior of his original 1960s valuable collector car was dirty and he replied that is “patina”.
